Choose or change a plan

Each website has its own plan and subscription. Shopify stores pay, change and cancel their plan in the Okito app inside Shopify instead, with different timing: see Shopify.

In the Okito dashboard, open Subscription plans (or the upgrade button at the top of the dashboard), choose the website and the plan, and pay by card. You can pay monthly or yearly.

• First paid plan (also an agency client website moving up from Beginner): you pay on the Stripe payment page. If your bank asks to confirm the payment (3-D Secure), you confirm it there; if the payment fails, the website stays on its plan and you can try again.
• Upgrade of a paid website: the saved payment method is charged right away for the rest of the current billing period. If you also switch between monthly and yearly billing, a new billing period starts that day instead: you pay for the new period minus the unused part of your current plan, and the renewal date moves. Before anything is charged, Okito shows the website, the new plan, the amount charged now and the next renewal date, and you confirm. If the amount changes before you confirm, Okito shows the new amount and asks again.
• Bank confirmation on an upgrade of a paid website: if your bank asks to confirm the payment for the upgrade (3-D Secure) or declines it, the website stays on its current plan. Okito tells you so, and Open invoice opens the invoice page, where you confirm the payment or pay with another card. The website moves to the new plan once the invoice is paid. If it isn't paid by the time shown (about a day), the change is dropped and the invoice is cancelled; a downgrade you had scheduled stays scheduled. While the invoice is open, choosing a plan again shows the same invoice, so you are never charged twice for one change.
• Downgrade (also to Free): takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Okito shows the date and asks you to confirm; nothing is charged. From that date, features your new plan doesn't include switch off for that website.

On a first paid plan and on an upgrade, the new plan's features (such as advanced Google Consent Mode and IAB TCF) start working on your site as soon as the payment goes through.

Trial

New accounts can start with a trial of a paid plan. Choose the plan when you sign up.

Invoices

Invoices and payment methods are under Billing (Owner and Admin).

Failed payments

If a website's payment fails and can't be collected, that website's banner is paused until the payment succeeds. Your other websites keep working.

Shopify

Shopify stores pay through Shopify App Pricing and manage their plan in the Okito app inside Shopify. A plan change made in Shopify reaches Okito on its own. A cancelled paid plan moves the store to Free within about 20 minutes, not at the end of a billing period. See Plans and billing and Cancel your paid plan.
