What Is Microsoft Clarity Consent API?

The Microsoft Clarity Consent API is a JavaScript interface used to pass a visitor’s consent decision from a website or consent management platform to Microsoft Clarity.

The API does not collect consent itself. The website must first obtain the visitor’s choice and then communicate the appropriate status to Clarity. With ConsentV2, analytics and advertising storage permissions can be passed separately through analytics_Storage and ad_Storage.

Clarity then adjusts its cookie and tracking behaviour according to those signals.
