What is cookie auto-blocking?

Cookie auto-blocking is a CMP feature that automatically prevents consent-dependent technologies from running before the required permission is given.

Despite the name, it can control more than cookies. Depending on the implementation, automatic script blocking may stop:

  • JavaScript trackers

  • Advertising pixels

  • Embedded iframes

  • Marketing tags

  • Analytics services

Once the visitor grants the relevant category, the CMP allows the corresponding technology to execute.
