What is a Google-certified CMP?

A Google-certified CMP is a consent management platform that has passed Google’s certification checks for supported publisher advertising use cases.

For personalized ads, publishers using AdSense, Ad Manager, or AdMob must use a certified CMP integrated with IAB TCF for:

• EEA and UK users since January 16, 2024

• Swiss users since July 31, 2024

Google makes an important distinction: certification tests its own criteria and TCF integration, but does not confirm that a CMP or publisher is fully compliant with privacy law.
