Cookie Consent
Does CCPA require granular consent like GDPR?
No. The CCPA does not generally require the same purpose-by-purpose prior opt-in consent model associated with GDPR consent.
For most adult consumers, the CCPA focuses on transparency and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, including through qualifying opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control. CCPA compliance therefore commonly relies on effective opt-out controls rather than prior consent for every non-essential technology.
Different rules apply to consumers under 16. For children under 13, a parent or guardian must authorize the sale or sharing of personal information. Consumers aged 13 to 15 can provide the required opt-in authorization themselves.
