Where do you put a privacy policy?

Place a clearly labelled privacy policy link where people can easily find it:

• In your website footer.

• Near contact, registration, newsletter, and checkout forms.

• In app settings or a privacy section.

• In required app store listing fields.

• Alongside relevant offline data collection, where applicable.

A footer link provides ongoing access, but important or unexpected processing may need a short explanation directly at the collection point. Layered privacy notices combine these brief explanations with a link to the full policy.

Make the information available at the legally required time. Under GDPR, this generally means when personal data is collected directly from someone. Avoid burying the policy in unrelated terms or restricting it to logged-in users.
