Google Consent Mode
What is ads_data_redaction in Google Consent Mode?
ads_data_redaction is an optional Consent Mode setting that redacts advertising click identifiers from requests sent by supported Google Ads and Floodlight tags when ad_storage is denied.
For it to take effect:
Consent Mode must be implemented.
ads_data_redaction must be set to true.
ad_storage must be denied.
When ad_storage is granted, ads_data_redaction does not redact the advertising click identifiers covered by this setting.
This setting reduces the advertising information sent when advertising storage consent is denied, but it does not block all Google requests or remove every type of data from requests. It is therefore different from Basic Consent Mode, which prevents Google tags from loading before the required consent is granted.
ads_data_redaction is a technical setting for handling advertising identifiers under denied storage consent; it does not itself collect or determine the visitor’s consent.
