Google Consent Mode
What are cookieless pings?
Cookieless pings are requests that Google tags can send in Advanced Consent Mode when the relevant storage consent is denied. They allow certain measurement signals to be sent without reading or writing cookies associated with the denied storage permission.
Depending on the Google tag, configuration, and request, these signals may include:
Consent states and event information.
Page URL and referrer information.
Browser information and timestamps.
Google can use these signals for conversion modeling and behavioral modeling, subject to eligibility and data requirements.
“Cookieless” does not mean that no data leaves the browser or that every request is automatically anonymous. In Basic Consent Mode, Google tags remain blocked until the required consent is granted, so cookieless pings are not sent before consent.
Cookieless pings are part of Advanced Consent Mode and are distinct from storing or reading advertising and analytics cookies.
