Is there GDPR in Turkey?

Turkey has its own data protection legislation, the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, commonly known as KVKK. GDPR can also apply to organisations based in Turkey when their processing falls within its territorial scope. For example, GDPR may apply when a Turkish business offers goods or services to people in the EU/EEA, monitors their behaviour there or processes personal data in the context of an EU/EEA establishment.A business may therefore need to address both KVKK compliance and GDPR obligations. The applicable requirements depend on its activities, establishment and the people whose data it processes.
