How many GDPR regulations are there?

There is one EU General Data Protection Regulation: Regulation (EU) 2016/679. It contains 99 articles arranged into 11 chapters, covering principles, individual rights, organisational duties, international transfers and enforcement. These articles are provisions within the same regulation.

EU countries may also have national data protection laws that supplement the GDPR in areas where the regulation allows national rules, such as certain employment-related matters.

The UK GDPR is separate from the EU GDPR. It is the UK’s data protection framework and operates alongside the UK Data Protection Act 2018. Organisations operating in both the EU and the UK may therefore need to comply with both frameworks, depending on their activities and the people whose data they process.
