How does cookie blocking work?

Cookie blocking works by controlling the technology that would create, read, or trigger a cookie rather than simply trying to remove the cookie afterward.

A typical flow is:

1. A script, pixel, iframe, or tag is identified.

2. It is assigned to a consent category.

3. Prior blocking prevents it from executing when that category is not allowed.

4. The visitor makes a choice.

5. The CMP activates or keeps blocking the technology accordingly.

When Google Tag Manager or another tag-management system is involved, consent controls can also determine whether individual tags are permitted to fire.
